Shaunay Cotton was born in Stockton, CA, and began singing at a very early age. She also began playing the violin at the age of seven, and with her two passions of singing and violin playing, she got involved in the gospel choirs at her schools, her church choirs, and solo singing gigs.
As a classically trained violinist, Shaunay has performed and has been concertmaster with various orchestras. Some of her performances include playing at venues such as New York’s Carnegie Hall. Along with her classical violin playing and R&B/Soul/Gospel/Pop singing, she has also pursued acting and modeling.
Shaunay studied Music and Biological Sciences at the University of Southern California. Her passions for R&B/Soul/Pop singing and classical violin playing contributed to her aspirations in becoming a solo artist. During her journey to reaching stardom, she always dreamed about mixing the styles together that she most loved, and creating something beautiful and original for her listeners to appreciate. She dreamed of mixing R&B/Soul/Pop singing with classical violin, and this has led to her singing and playing at the same time in performance.
“To create amazing #1 albums, and to perform and share value for the world with my music is my vision. Going through the music-making process and performing is exciting, inspirational, and what I am most passionate about.”
